¿Sabías que...?
Devotees recount that, however much Panakam is poured through the day, no ant or fly is seen inside the Panakala Narasimha sanctum.
The 153-foot, 11-storey Gali Gopuram at the foot temple is among the tallest temple towers in South India; its upper storeys were raised between 1807 and 1809 CE.
The hill of Mangalagiri is shaped like a reclining elephant, which is why tradition links it with the prince Hrasva Sringi who took an elephant's form.
During the ritual offering, when the archaka pours Panakam through a conch, an unmistakable gurgling sound of swallowing is clearly heard, abruptly stopping once exactly half the vessel is consumed.
