Dawn worship

The Kakad Aarti is sung before sunrise. The first verse says that the dawn has risen and the time for sleep has passed, and asks Panduranga to rise and give darshan to everyone gathered.

Ghee torches (Kakada)

The ritual uses thick cotton wicks dipped in ghee, waved in circles before the deity. They are a symbol of dispelling darkness before the dawn of darshan.

Offerings of the Gopis

The hymn specifically mentions Dadhibhata (curd-rice) and Loni (fresh white butter), recreating the Vrindavan childhood leelas on the banks of the Chandrabhaga.
